I’m A Working Dog Now

Happy Friday, everyone! Ruger has had quite the exciting week and would like to share it with you! I’ll be back on Monday with a new care package in my shop!

TGIF, am I right? Fridays are especially important to me now because I have a job! I know, I’m very excited too. You see, Rachel takes me to her office a whole bunch now and boy, does she keep me busy.  I thought it would be fun if I told you a little bit about my days at work!

We get there really early. Normally right at the time that I would take my post-breakfast nap, but the early Roogie gets the bird! When we first get there, Rachel unpacks all of my stuff and gets me some water from the kitchen. I don’t like the kitchen at this place; it has a funny-sounding floor and I’m afraid to walk on it.

I work on my brainstorming session while Rachel answers emails. I don’t know what those are, but she gets A LOT of them every single day. Sometimes she even yells “stop sending me emails!” at her shiny toy. I don’t know what that means, but maybe it’s like when I bring her all the shoes in the house. She only needs some shoes.

I know that picture makes it look like I’m sleeping, but really I just prefer to brainstorm laying down. With my eyes shut. And preferably on my blanket. Ahem. After my brainstorming session, people come visit us for “a meetings”. Lots of people want to come talk to me. Luckily, they sit on the floor and rub my belly while they talk. I don’t really understand what they’re saying, but we speak the universal language of belly rubs.  Sometimes I try to be a part of the “a meetings” and crawl in Rachel’s lap so I can see everyone.

After people leave, I have to get down to business. My main job involves watching out the window and alerting Rachel each time I see something. I see lots of somethings.  Birds. Squirrels. And sometimes people! I like watching out the window.

Before I know it, Rachel says it’s time to eat another breakfast. But I don’t get one! I don’t know why I don’t get another breakfast; I worked hard too. All I get is a trip outside and maybe a little piece of Rachel’s cheese stick. I like cheese sticks.

Then we have more “a meetings”, only now we go to other people’s rooms and have them in there! And then I help around the office: I’m especially good at helping people carry stuff. And making people use their happy voice! I can’t go anywhere without them using their happy voice. Rachel says I’m a real good boy.

After such a busy day, you can totally understand why I need to come home and take a nap until dinner time. Thank goodness it’s Friday and I can relax this weekend.
