Happy 2017, everyone! I hope you all had a great start to the new year and are ready to make it your best one yet. I’m still traveling today, but didn’t want to wait to share my birthday care package backstory (or this month’s military spouse link-up) with you.
The first special occasion A and I celebrated together was his 29th birthday, about a month after we started dating and just days after our infamous fourth date. I wanted to hit just the right note between sentimental and funny with his gift, especially considering we were still so new, so I spent ages searching up on Gifts For Men. In the end, I took a pretty disastrous pancake making episode and turned it into a bit of a joke by gifting him a pancake pan and box of Bisquick.
I’ve been giving him birthday gifts ever since, even when he’s deployed, and I love it. Birthdays may seem a bit silly (after all, YOU aren’t the one who did all the work), but I love them. The singing, the candles, the balloons…the cake! All of it add up to a great day that for everyone else is completely normal. It’s your own private holiday.
Since we all have birthdays to celebrate, this happy birthday care package was a natural choice for my shop. I love the fun festive colors (that are perfect for male or female recipients) of this care package. The bottom paper has such a fun pattern that it was easy to start visualizing the finished product as soon as I purchased it. The birthday cake and balloons give it just the right touch. All that’s left is for you to wrap a few presents and ship it off to your loved one!
This birthday care package works for deployed service members as well as college students or any loved one who’s away for their special day. As always, I offer free shipping on all orders and donate 10% of the sales price to an organization that assists military families.
Now, let’s get this year started off with a bang! The January 2017 Military Spouse Link-Up is now live and I want to see what you’re working on! Since this is a month-long link-up, I’ll share the code on a few additional blog posts throughout the month so it doesn’t get lost.
