I love A a lot. I love him more than I love having my own bathroom, more than chocolate, more than trashy TV. He knows that. And now, thanks to his most recent care package, he knows that I love him more than polka dots.<
I know. That’s a lot of love, especially for me.
My care package process is pretty much the same each time. I always cover the inside of the box so I have one more surface to decorate. Scrapbook paper works really well for this since it’s thick enough to keep the ugly brown of the box from showing through. I cut the paper to size and just use tape or glue dots to attach it to the box.
I broke out the fancy metallic Sharpies for this box. That’s how you know it’s true love. Most of the time I hand-letter everything myself, but stickers would totally work well too!
As with every care package, I individually wrapped the items to make it more fun to open. I like using brown paper because it goes with just about any color scheme/theme, but wrapping paper would be a lot of fun too. I have a plan to use “Happy Birthday” wrapping paper for his care package in September.
To carry the polka dot theme throughout the entire box, I added either polka dot paper scraps or drew on my own polka dots. I don’t believe in subtlety when it comes to care packages.
This box included a lot of basics like:
- Baby wipes
- Girl Scout cookies
- A towel
- Trail mix
